Rambling Faggy Tranny,
Living in Utah.

My name is Dexter and I was assigned the gender "female" at birth. Since December of 2008, there's been a whole lotta social and physical transition going on up in here. Why? To help my brain and body physiologically connect. Importantly, my gender identity (genderqueer) hasn't changed and doubtfully ever will. Male, female, genderqueer, he, she, ze... whatev.

I'm currently a college student and a McNair Scholar majoring in Psychology. I intend to nab me a PhD!

Kiddle Era:

Can you count, suckers? I say, the future is ours... if you can count!

Fox News psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow may need to see a shrink

Fox News published one of the most over the top and poisonously transphobic articles I have ever read this week.

Commenting on the decision of Chaz (formerly Chastity) Bono’s decision to compete on the forthcoming ABC series of Dancing With The Stars, the cable news station published a five alarm freak out article by a Dr. Keith Ablow that evidences infinitely more ignorance than insight.

Faux News must love the stir and attention that having this Dr. Keith Ablow quack on their “Medical A-Team” generates.

U.S. appeals court upholds transgender ruling

Wisconsin’s attempt to ban hormone therapy for transgender prison inmates is unconstitutional, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.

The U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Chief U.S. District Judge Charles N. Clevert Jr.’s decision last year striking down the state’s 2005 Sex Change Prevention Act after a nonjury trial.

My local radio station is having this contest, “The Breast Summer Ever” in which the company will fully fund the breast augmentation of the winning woman, on a voting system. I just wanted to bring to your attention that anyone can vote,…

This quote and contestant video are from a transwoman named Avery (#4) who has made the top ten in this contest, which has caused a bit of a controversy in her conservative city. But seriously, GO AVERY. Just imagine what this will do for her self esteem!

Go vote for her here! Easy peasy.

Documentary on Navajo Teen Murdered for Gender Identity to Air on PBS

“Fred Martinez was a Navajo boy, who was also a girl. In an earlier era, he would have been revered. Instead he was murdered,” from Two Spirits.

I haven’t had the chance to watch this award-winning documentary yet, but entirely intend to this week seeing as it will be airing 1493 times starting tomorrow, the 14th, until June 29th on PBS! It concerns the brief life of Fred Martinez, a Navajo youth who was murdered in 2001 due to gender and sexual identity. (S)he was 16 years old.

In 1970, a five-year-old boy named Kirk Murphy was subjected to an ex-gay experiment. Under the care of Dr Ivor Lovaas and George Rekers, then a doctoral student, of UCLA, he underwent therapy to eliminate supposed effeminate behaviors. In 1974, Lovaas and Rekers jointly published a paper about the boy they renamed “Kraig,” heralding his treatment for “childhood cross-gender problems” a success and claiming he had been transformed from a gender-confused homosexual-in-waiting to a healthy, heterosexual young man. On the back of this study, Rekers built a career as an anti-gay activist and a supposed expert in childhood sexual development. He co-founded the Family Research Council and championed reparative therapy to turn gay men straight. In 2003, Kirk, aged 38 years old and gay, committed suicide.
