Tranny is Just a Word →
“People used to take offense with the words “queer” and “dyke,” both of which predates the words “trannie” and “tranny.” The word “dyke” is the shorten version of the word “bulldyke,” first seen in 1920 novels. “Queer” is much older, coming from the English language in the 16th century, meaning...

Trans People are Banned From Boarding Airplanes in... →
The shit hit the fan in the trans blogosphere last night, when it came to light that there is a disturbing new section in the Identity Screening Regulations used in airports throughout Canada. Simply put, Transgender People are Completely Banned From Boarding Airplanes in Canada.

Albert Nobbs and U.S. Stereotypes
Let’s just be honest here; Albert Nobbs was a steaming pile of rectal sludge. It had an interesting enough premise, but it was just slopped together to achieve a faux impression of an in-depth film. Epic fail. #SPOILERS AHEAD# The plot is set in 19th century Ireland and involves a “woman passing as a man” who works as a waiter. Each evening he hides away his meager tips and...

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
You can’t talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can’t talk about ending the slums without first saying profit must be taken out of slums… Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong…with capitalism… There must be a better distribution of wealth and...

Before every new semester I get a pit in my...
… trying to figure out how I can pay for the required texts. Even with the privilege of not worrying about food or shelter, living with my parents, it is still a daunting challenge. Most semesters I’ve been able to find ways to work it out and some semesters I couldn’t. The semesters where I literally couldn’t afford my books made it very difficult to keep up and do well in...

When I lay there in my pantaloons
… pondering deeply about such things like what position I’d prefer to be in if I ended up in The Human Centipede, when I will go buy more wet food for Evilbunny (my cat) and a bleach pen for the white Hanes© shirts I wear every day, getting mula for school books, and whatnot - eventually the realisation of how seriously lucky I am in the tranny department comes creeping in.

Self-Injection Phase
For almost three years now I’ve been self-injecting. The very first time my hand quivered and I literally couldn’t do it - but every injection since then? No problem. It had become such a menial automaton task that when I switched from bi-weekly injection to every week it wasn’t no thang.
But then, something happened. About a month ago.
I don’t know what the hell it was,...

The Outlier
My apologies in advance for what will probably be my most boring blog post yet - but, ya know, it happens. It’s only bound to get worse.
Anyway, whenever we do in-class surveys in my Statistics class I’m always the “outlier” (illustrated in picture over this way —>). Every time for whatever reason I’m surprised; probably because I live in an oblivious bubble...

Upcoming Semester ~FIN~
Fuckin’ this semester. Seriously. And fuckin’ Statistics. And fuckin’ finals. And fuckin’ my bloody stress eyeball and my consta-compromised immune system. And fuckin’ whining. Which I do a lot of lately.
Alas, this semester is almost over. So… close… can’t… wait.
Then it starts all over again.
But, for a minute there, it’ll be nothing...

Bachelorette Par-Tay
… is synonymous with trauma.
The corner of queer-ville I’ve resided in for these past 29 years has not been the host of many weddings. I think a total of… oh, three? None of which included my being invited to a bachelorette party - until Friday night.
My adorable friend, Nicole, recently took a trip to New York to marry her same-sex partner. They had a ceremony shindig there....

No Shave November
Uh, something unprecedented and exciting has occurred in the land of my facial hair. I’m not sure when exactly it happened, but it did - last month I had developed what I’d argue passed as fo’ real real facial hair. It got to the point where, as I posted about prior, I could shampoo it, condition it, comb it, and trim it. Life was good. And then Halloween happened - where I had...

Dating UTI Smackdown
I’m dating someone. Woot! It’s been, oh… approximately 3 years since I’ve done so? Which means this is kinda epic.
Or, rather, super epic.
Back in the day I had essentially resolved to stop dating for a number of reasons. First, over time intimacy had become a huge dysphoria trigger. It got to the point where I just absolutely couldn’t ignore the disconnect between...

Cuddly Face Muff
When I started this transition shindig I absolutely couldn’t wait for the day I’d develop stubble and, even better, epic facial hair. But when it finally started to happen, I was disturbed by how brittle and wiry it was in comparison to hair elsewhere. I expected it to be coarse - but it was so… dry and unmanageable and grody-feeling. Especially on my chin.
With my brother and...

Psych Out
Had the most difficult time getting my prescription refill (testosterone cypionate) this time around! Generally I just wander in to the pharmacy and say, “I wanna refill.”. I give money, take bag of needles and bottle o’ T, and stumble back out into the world. But when I attempted to refill this time around ON injection day I was told, “Oh, you’re out of refills. Oh,...

Search For Fugitive Cow Called Off! →
I absolutely had to reblog this. Go Yvonne!
theinformedvegan:
Yvonne, the cow who escaped slaughter and has been on the run since on May 24th, is finally free to roam.
Hunters who’ve exhaustively searched for the 6-year old cow for months have finally called off the search. Her trackers declared the little cow “as nimble as a weasel.” The…

Awkward tall girls
The other day my perceived dude gender got me into trouble. So there I sat, all studious-like, in my Psychology class as my professor rambled on aboot noticeably observable gender differences in toddlers something another.
As she lectured, I reminisced about my own toddlerhood and how I can’t recall noticing any extreme physical differences until the land o’ adolescent puberty. In my...

Gym n' Pink Nipplage
SO REFRESHING. After top surgery, recovery, and then a conveniently timed month-long coughing sickness, today I went to the gym with the most bad ass gym buddy ever - my mom. Back in the good ol’ days, my mom and I went to the gym together on a daily basis. Until I started the hormone shindig and the locker room progressively got a lot more uncomfortable than it already was. Eventually it...

Post-Surgery Student Land
Student land and selfish post-surgery running aboot celebration have connived to prevent me from blogging as I should! I will also upload pictures of my epic healing nipples at some point in the near future here. They are currently pink and scabbed, with my right one healing faster than the left. Why? I dunno. But, they’re both pink, alive, and resting upon muscle instead of boob.
Today was...

Fox News psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow may need to... →
Fox News published one of the most over the top and poisonously transphobic articles I have ever read this week.
Commenting on the decision of Chaz (formerly Chastity) Bono’s decision to compete on the forthcoming ABC series of Dancing With The Stars, the cable news station published a five alarm freak out article by a Dr. Keith Ablow that evidences infinitely more ignorance than...

Surprise Anaesthesia Bill
Just a couple of days ago, I received a $900 bill from the U of U hospital for the anaesthesia required during my surgery. My first payment of $89 would be due on the first of September.
Admittedly, I was surprised to receive a huge bill after just paying almost $5,500 out of pocket. But I wasn’t upset. I think, pre-surgery, I might have been. Post-surgery? I’m way too floaty high up...

Back 2 School
Had my first and second day of classes Wednesday and Thursday! The lessons I’ve learned so far?
It’s hard to carry books less than 2 weeks after surgery.
Sweating in a compression vest is itchier than in a binder.
Nipple grafts freak me out. Today I see my surgeon and find out if my tissue is livin’ or dyin’! Yay!
Statistics = intimidating.
I also endured a lot of...

Out and Aboot
After working from home on a recliner chair in jammies for a week, I returned to the office yesterday. Wee!
I’d predicted that the worst case scenario would involve my being an idiot and trying to lift shit when I shouldn’t - but, that didn’t happen. Instead, the worst case scenario turned out to be the bro shake. I hadn’t realized how often this happens in my world…...
